Todd Mall (T) is the main shopping and leisure area for tourists in Alice Springs. Actually quite relaxed and with many trees, it probably has the highest concentration of Aboriginal Art and Didgeridoo shops in the world. More authentic is the CAAMA shop at 101 Todd Street, of the Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association, who offer CDs and MCs of current Aboriginal artists.
Alice Springs has got other attractions, too - the historic Telegraph Station and the Araluen Centre for Arts and Entertainment (A), containing an art museum with a good collection of paintings from the famous Australian Aboriginal painter Albert Namatjira. The Gap (G), the breakthrough through the MacDonnel Ranges is also quite impressive - it is helpful to know that the airport and several large campgrounds are located south of the Gap while the city center is located north of it.
