You might enjoy sitting on a camel, walking some rounds in a row of similar animals. If you do, here's your opportunity...
Rumours say that a relative of a well-known prince has introduced this attraction to Broome. The camels, at least, are almost native animals to Australia - they have been introduced in the 19th century for transportation and have well adapted to the Outback conditions.
These days, there are up to a million camels living in Australia in 2008, rapidly growing. The camels in Australia are Dromedary Camels and have one hump (the two-humped one is the Bactrian Camel). The population probably is a mixture of both subspecies, though, as both types have been introduced to Australia and as Dromedaries and Bactrian Camels have fertile one-humped offspring.
