Devil Cat

The photo taken end of January 2002, this is probably one of the last times the Devil Cat made the trip from Melbourne to George Town, Tasmania. The Devil Cat is a catamaran high speed ferry built by Incat Australia in Hobart, which after peak season that year was sold and now serves in Trinidad and Tobago in the Carribbean. Today, only large monohull ferries serve between Tasmania and the mainland, and the terminal in George Town is now defunct. The Bass Strait is quite wild at times, and the movement in the catamaran ferry stronger than in a stabilized normal ferry. Anyway, the author overdid it with 2 seasickness pills, and arrived in Tasmania in a quite narcotic state.
