Charters Towers

Charters Towers used to be a large gold mining town. From these times, a number of well renovated buildings are still present, like the library building, a former bank, above. Today, Charters Towers is the agricultural center of the area, suffering under the drought of the last few years, like many other outback towns.

Currently, this is the endpoint of our "Queensland" tour - we hope you liked it and look forward to your comments. Continue with any other state, or, if you would like to come back to our site at a later time, click here to add a link to youraustralia.eu in your bookmarks (Internet Explorer only).
