Fraser Island

The largest sand island of the world, Fraser Island, is, together with the Great Barrier Reef, the best known attraction of Queensland. It is about 175 km long and up to 25 km wide. The island is mostly covered with dense forests and has many small freshwater lakes. It is almost completely protected through the Great Sandy National Park.
