Like the Mt. Warning area in northern NSW, the Glass House Mountains about 75km north of Brisbane are the remains of ancient volcanoes. The 13 mountains in the Glass House Mountains National Park are about 20 million years old - actually that is quite young, compared with other parts of Australia. Some of the mountains can be climbed without too much effort.
