Gold Coast is the strangest city the authors have ever seen. It is one-dimensional, in many respects - a thin line of skyscrapers at the ocean border, focussed mainly on mass tourism. It is the second largest city of Queensland, right at the border to New South Wales. Best viewed from a distance, like here from Springbrook in the Border Ranges.
