Above one of the open air pits of the Ranger Uranium Mine. The mine is not the largest in Australia or the world, but the most controversial one since it is located within Kakadu NP. Today, the mine is more or less open to visitors - you can tour it with a guided tour starting at Jabiru Airport (Jabiru is the main centre of the park, with some shops, backpackers and hotels).
