Kings Canyon is part of the Watarrka National Park north of Uluru and can be reached from it and from the Stuart Highway (the north-south axis of the NT) via Luritja Road and Lasseter Highway. The last part is called Ernest Giles Road - from there, the view above can be seen, with the escarpment of the plateau in which the canyon is cut. The part of the Ernest Giles Rd from Stuart Hwy to the Luritja junction is not paved and can only be used by 4WD cars.
