On Magnetic Island, several beaches, like Horseshoe Bay above, invite bathers. To protect them from deadly Box Jellyfish, found during sommer all along the tropical coast, a part of the beach is fenced off with a fine net. Never swim outside of that net! Australia is famous for it's venomous animals, like snakes or spiders, but most of them cause only an extremely low number of accidents - the only exception is the Box Jellyfish. Luckily it is seasonal and is not found on the coasts of Australia's southern states.
