In the wet season (Australian summer, northern winter), the lowlands Kakadu NP can become almost one large wetland. During that season, it may be quite difficult to travel in Kakadu NP. In the dry season, only some smaller wetlands are left, like Mamukala Wetland in the South Alligator area above. Many birds are attracted to the wetlands, like the egret above. At Mamukala, there is a large observation hut, from which you can observe the birds. Do not forget your binoculars!
