The Mary River / Wetlands area is the low lying region west of the northern part of Kakadu NP. If you drive from Darwin to Kakadu, you will first pass the Wetlands visitor centre, then arrive at Mary River, where there is a campground and small hotel. There are tours available on Mary River, where you might see crocodiles.
