The Blue Tier is the highland area north of the Tasman Highway, in the vicinity of a scattered village named Goulds Country and the harbour town St Helens. An unpaved road at Goulds Country leads from the highway to the area, with a small picknick ground as starting point for several walks through the subalpine landscape. You will enjoy wide views of the eastern coastline as well as the mountains in the center of Tasmania, in an unspoiled landscape not yet discovered by the average tourist.
