Nitmiluk National Park is historically known as Katherine Gorge NP. The gorge which Katherine River cut through an ancient sandstone plateau is the most important attraction of the area. In the north is the less spectacular, but quite beautiful area of Edith Falls (Leylin). A trail, Jatbula Walk, connects both parts of the National Park - it takes about 4-5 days and is strictly managed by the NP administration - remember to book in advance!
Actually, at this point our 2008 NT & WA images start... work is progressing, but slowly, like on some Australian outback roads, where the tarred surface may be replaced suddenly by a gravel one, and that one ending in a sand track. So, from here on be prepared to switch on your 4WD browser features ;-)
