The northern tablelands of NSW rise from the coastal plains and are the agricultural backbone of the state. A number of National Parks protect forests, rivers and bushland in those areas which have not been deforested in the past. Especially on the escarpment of the tablelands, there are great views over unspoiled forests, like above at Eagles Nest in the New England National Park (N). Coffs Harbour (CH) or Grafton (G) are good starting points for the area.
