The largest town on the southern NSW coastline is Wollongong with more than 250'000 inhabitants, 80 km south of Sydney. A large metropolitan area and crowded campgrounds - not that much attractive for travellers. Worth a visit is the large buddhist Nan Tien temple in Wollongong.
