Morton National Park view

Many National Parks can be found in the Great Dividing Range area. Morton National Park lies about half way between Sydney and Canberra, but away from the overland highways. In its upper part it is similar to the Blue Mountains, maybe even more impressive. There is an excellent campground in its lower part. Note that the park is often threated by bush fire - in 2002, we observerd a giant mushroom cloud over the park, almost like a nuklear explosion, from nearby Goulburn. Currently, there are also fire warnings and closures!
