Queensland is Australia's Tropical Paradise. Covered by almost inaccessible rainforests in the north, with the Great Barrier Reef and many tropical islands just off the coast, it is the #1 holiday target of Australians from NSW and Victoria. Most of the sun-sand-beer-tourists luckily concentrate in places like Gold Coast ("G") with its beachside downtown area, or some of the islands.
More relaxed destinations are the coastal towns of the north, Cairns ("C") and Townsville ("T"), and of course the capital, Brisbane ("B"). The mining town of Mount Isa is near to the border of the Northern Territory. A very famous destination is Fraser Island ("F"), the largest sand island of the world. Unluckily, it is a bit overrun. Other beautiful national parks of Queenslands are much less overrun, like Eungella N.P., extending around the Eungella valley shown above.
