Travelling the Great Northern Hwy, you will probably stop at the Sandfire Roadhouse - there are not that many fuel stations around. In addition to fuel, they offer food (excellent toasts!), cool drinks, and beds. The roadhouse burned down in April 2007, probably due to an electrical fault, but quickly opened up again in a provisorical building.
