Lake Pedder and Lake Gordon are two artificial reservoirs in the northern part of the South West National Park, accessible via the Gordon River Road to Strathgordon. Long and bitter fights of ecologists with the Hydro Electric Commission of Tasmania did not prevent the original Lake Pedder from being drowned by the reservoir.
