Skinks, a family of lizards, have a less pronounced neck and smaller legs than other lizards. This is very obvious for the exemplary above, found on a boardwalk part of the South Coast Track. In contrast to many other Australian animals, its flat body was not caused by a terminal car accident, it is natural.
