The coast between Brisbane and Fraser Island is called "Sunshine Coast". Its "capital" is Noosa Heads, a beachside town with many hotels and backpackers. Further away from the coast, on the Fitzroy River shown above, lies Rockhampton, the agricultural center of the region. The ancient volcano cores of the Glasshouse Mountains are a fascinating destination in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast.
