Harbour Bridge

Together with the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge may be the best known sight of Sydney - if only for the New Years Eve fireworks shown on TV around the the world. Opened in 1932, the bridge is also known as "coathanger". It is possible, but not really cheap, to climb the bridge.

By the way, Happy Birthday Harbour Bridge! On March 18th, 2007, the bridge celebrated its 75th birthday - it was blocked for cars and thousands of Sydneysiders with yellow caps crossed it on foot!
