Tanunda, Barossa Valley

Tanunda, the largest and most-visited town in the Barossa Valley, consists of several once separate towns with German origin, which were all renamed during WW I. The town is centered along the Barossa Valley Hwy, with many well preserved buildings from the 19th century, like the old Telegraph Station above. Of course, there are also some German restaurants, but the authors didn't dare to test them. On Mengler Hill east of the town, there is a memorial to the first settlers of the area, with a good view over the valley.
