Over 90% of Tasmania's electric power is generated from hydro-electric power schemes by the state-owned Hydro Tasmania (formerly HEC). In the western half of Tasmania, large reservoirs, dams, power lines, well-maintained roads and pipelines like above at Tarraleah can be found almost everywhere.
