Tasmanian mountain ranges

There is only one sizeable coastal town on Tasmania's remote west coast, Strahan (red circle on the right map), on the giant natural harbour of Macquaire Harbour. The rest is wilderness, interrupted by inland mining towns, like Queenstown or Zeehan. The reason for this is the wind, coming from the west and often carrying heavy rain, which makes agriculture in the area very difficult. But for the bushwalker, this means almost untouched landscapes and mountain ranges, as seen above from the Lyell Highway.
