Bright, Victoria, lies in the heart of the Victorian part of the Alps. Mt. Buffalo, Mt. Hotham, Mt. Feathertop and Mt. Bogong are all not far away. The town itself lies deep in the Ovens Valley and is a nice place to stay, very green and with many historic buildings. The author remembers the town also for the most amazing downpour ever seen - for about 5 minutes an almost inpermeable wall of rain, without warning, and then good weather again!
