The countryside between the coast and the Australian Alps has many lovely corners. The area around the small town of Buchan is one of them, and it also contains one of the largest cave systems in Australia. The limestone caves were once cut by an underground river. The caves and the surrounding countryside are protected by the Buchan Caves Reserve. There is a large campground in the reserve, surrounded by nature and frequented also by many Australian animals!
