Gold once was dredged from the rivers in Victoria on an industrial level. The derelict gold dredge above, near the appropriately named town ElDorado, is more than 100 m long. The gold rush started in the 1850s and led to the settlement of Victoria. These days, Victoria contributes only about 1% to Australia's gold production.
