Almost on the border to South Australia, the Glenelg River meanders through the flat limestone landscape, cutting a gorge up to 50m deep. On the last 40 km, the river and surrounding forest is protected by the Lower Glenelg National Park. To tour the river, you can rent canoes in the small town of Nelson at the river mouth. There are several walks through the dense forest, also along the river banks.
