Queenscliff lies at the western side of the entrance to Port Phillip Bay. The strategic location lead to a fort being built, Fort Queenscliff, which today is a popular tourist destination. Worth a visit are also the hotels built in the 1880s to cater for the tourists coming over from Melbourne by boat or train, like the Vue Grand Hotel above.
