The Twelve Apostles are the absolute highlight of the Great Ocean Road and one of the best known attractions in all of Australia. The coast of the western part of the Great Ocean Road is dominated by steep cliffs and a much dryer landscape than the eastern part. Port Campbell National Park protects much of the coastline, including the Twelve Apostles. From platforms on a small promontory, you have excellent views over the western (G.O.R. start page) and eastern (above) section, with the cliffs and the giant rocks formed by erosion.
