Busselton used to be a peaceful fishing and tourist town best known for "the longest wooden jetty in the southern hemisphere" with a length of 1841m. To look for strange world records like this seems to be an Australian habit, maybe to boost their patriotic feelings.
Anyway, some years after the photo above was taken, an underwater observatory was added at the end of the jetty, extending 8m under the ocean surface. With 400'000 visitors per annum, the peacefulness of Busselton may be a thing of the past...
