The south west region of WA is famous for its endemic Eucalyptus species, among them Karri and Jarrah. Open forests, influenced by logging, alternate with old growth forests with magnificient Karri growing up to 90m high. But like in other parts of Australia, the conflict between logging and nature conservation is still unresolved.
